Dan Thomas
Dan Thomas is in his fourth season as a Fairview coach, working primarily with pitchers and catchers. Thomas spent seven years in the college ranks at the
University of
California,
San Diego and
American
International
College in
Massachusetts. Thomas spent six years at UC San Diego serving as the pitching coach, recruiting coordinator, and mental strength coach. In 2001, Thomas helped the Tritons successfully transition from Division III to Division II. UC San Diego has since established itself as one of the top Division II programs on the west coast. The Tritons made back to back appearances in the CCCA Conference Tournament in ’04 and ’05. In 2005, the team won its first Conference Title by surviving four straight elimination games. In 2006, Coach Thomas was an assistant coach at
American
International
College
working with the pitchers and outfielders. The Yellow Jackets more than doubled their win total from the season before and had their most victories since 2002. Coach Thomas played at
Long Beach
State from 1996 – 1999 under Dave Snow. While at
Long Beach
State, the Dirtbags won two Big West regular season titles, one Conference Tournament Title, and played in four straight NCAA Regional’s. In 1998,
Long Beach
State won the West Regional and headed to
Omaha and the College World Series finishing third. Thomas won the West Regional semifinal against
North Carolina State.
